Things may seem to have gone quiet at Caretaker Towers, but rest assured the album (which we have decided to call ‘Providence’) is coming along nicely.
Vocals are all that is left to do, and thereafter, mixing and all the magical stuff that goes with it.
Meanwhile, we’ve got some gigs coming up over the next few weeks, at which we’ll be playing a sizeable chunk of ‘Providence’.

It’s actually happening. Tomorrow we’ll be setting up in preparation to begin recording.
We’ll update you once we’re out of the studio and put some pics and hilarious videos of our outrageous studio exploits up on the site. Because we love you.

Well, we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel we’ve been in since 2001 when we released “Caretaker” with Fierce Panda. We’ve written the songs, we know the order and for the next couple of months we’ll be locked in the practise room tightening everything up before we head up to the Bunker and record them with Wayne Pennell (the man responsible for Rook/Impasse).
We can’t wait to finally make this record happen, and we hope that it’ll be the record you guys deserve…
Thanks for sticking with us!

Hi everyone, not a lot to report really… We’re beavering away writing songs for 2010′s most highly atticipated album (yeah, right), but we are playing the odd gig (including one at our spiritual home, the Westy in Aldershot on 05/12), so keep your eyes on the gig page.
Unfortunately we’ve had to pull out of our London gig on 4th December with our friends Djevera due to poor diary skills on our (Harry’s) part. We’re gutted as not only was this a launch night for Djevera’s new EP, but it was also guitarist Bass’ birthday… The gig is still going ahead with “secret special guests” replacing us, so I suggest if you’re in the area, get down to the Cross Kings!

So it’s now been nearly three months since our recording session, and in some quarters it has garnered some very favourable reviews, most notably in Rock Sound magazine, where we picked up Single of the Month. Whilst we’re obviously chuffed to bits with ourselves, much praise should be heaped on Wayne Pennell who made us sound a whole heap better than we are. Cheers Wayne!
Meanwhile, we’re hard at work getting material together to do some more recording next year, so keep your eyes peeled, and we’ve also got a few gigs booked too. Take a look.
Until then, take care

Hi every one… T-shirts are now available from the shop! They come in Black, Navy Blue or Forest Green and they look rather nice. Go on, Treat yourself…
Ok, so you can't really tell the different colours on this pic, but believe me they're different!
Also it seems like a good idea to remind you of our excellent Winchester gig on 11/09/09 at the Railway Inn. It’s another one of our own nights, so it’s guarenteed to be awesome. Fact.

Just to let you know, we’ve got a few September gigs coming up – London, Winchester and Cambridge, and one for October in Oxford… check out the Gigs page for more details…
T-shirts are imminent. You’ll be able to buy them very shortly from the Shop page. Have a look, and if they’re not there yet, try back next week!
Lastly we just wanted to say thanks to the people who’ve helped us out with all of our recent shenanigans:
Wayne Pennell who did the recording, Simon Beckett who did the designy stuff, Laura Mitchell took photos, Ben Lawson as always is our internet guru, and Dan Papps sorted us out with a nice list of where to send CDs to.
Also, thanks to everyone who’s signed up for the mailing list and downloaded the new stuff and thanks to our loved ones for grinning and bearing it whilst we’ve been consumed with Caretaker activity for the last couple of months!

Welcome to the new and improved Caretaker website.
We recorded our first material for about five years towards the end of July at The Bunker Studio, with our good friend Wayne Pennell (previously seen wielding an axe in the legendary Ursa, and now with Ternary), and it has now been mixed and mastered. We’re really pleased with the results, it’s probably our best recorded output to date. Hopefully you will agree! Signing up to our mailing list will entitle you to download the songs we recorded for free. If you’re already on the mailing list, we’ll send you a link to where you can download it. Enjoy!
